We are seeking an experienced, results-driven IT PMO Project Manager to lead critical projects within our organization. The ideal candidate will take ownership of driving issues, resolving challenges, and delivering project results that align with Corning’s quality and compliance standards. The role requires a proven leader who can manage complex projects, communicate effectively, engage stakeholders, and ensure project objectives are met with precision and efficiency.
As an IT PMO Project Manager, you will:
1. Project Ownership:
o Drive project execution, ensuring timelines, budgets, and deliverables are met.
o Take ownership of resolving project issues and proactively escalate to ensure timely resolutions.
o Provide leadership and accountability for project outcomes.
2. Project Leadership Functions:
o Develop comprehensive project plans, detailing milestones, resources, and timelines.
o Maintain and manage RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, Dependencies) logs to track and address obstacles.
o Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with business goals.
o Facilitate effective communication with stakeholders, including regular status updates and reports.
3. Stakeholder Engagement:
o Build strong relationships with stakeholders to understand their needs and priorities.
o Act as the primary point of contact for project communications and manage stakeholder expectations.
o Engage leadership and key decision-makers as needed to ensure project success.
4. Compliance and Quality Standards:
o Ensure adherence to Corning’s quality and compliance standards throughout the project lifecycle.
o Monitor project deliverables to confirm they meet regulatory and company-specific requirements.
5. Issue Management and Escalation:
o Identify project risks and proactively develop mitigation strategies.
o Escalate issues to appropriate levels of management, when necessary, while keeping stakeholders informed of progress.

Preferred DOMAIN Qualifications (We are especially interested in candidates who bring the following expertise to the role):
1. Financial Application Expertise:
o Experience delivering Financial Application solutions, including deep familiarity with financial systems and tools. (Key examples include SAP & PeopleSoft)
o Extensive experience working with stakeholders in the Finance community to gather and manage requirements effectively.
2. SOX Compliance:
o Ability to draft and manage requirements for SOX (Sarbanes-Oxley) compliance.
o Experience ensuring that financial systems and processes align with SOX documentation and audit standards.
3. Testing and Defect Management:
o Ability to manage and oversee test cycles for financial applications, ensuring quality and compliance.
o Produce daily testing updates and provide detailed analysis on defects, including root cause, aging, and priority.
4. Cutover Planning and Execution:
o Experience performing after-hours cutovers for financial applications to minimize business downtime.
o Ability to coordinate with stakeholders and ensure smooth transitions during cutovers with minimal disruption to business operations.
5. Agile Methodologies:
o Proven experience working in Agile project environments and familiarity with Agile or Scrum frameworks is highly desired.
